The People for the Preservation of Kauai now have an attorney who is building a foundation for legal proceedings to get an injunction against Hawaii Superferry until an Environmental Impact Statement is completed. In particular, the aim will be to determine the impact of the Superferry on federally protected marine species, including the Humpback Whale, and the legal consequences under the Endangered Species Act and the Marine Mammals Act.
